Short Term Livery Agreement For Breeding Animals

to the Proposed Licensee/ Licensees

  • Any Broodmare/Foal/Stallion/livery horse at livery at Brackenspa Stud will be looked after as agreed with the stud owner.

  • The charge will be arranged with each individual owner and is payable upon the animal leaving stud or, if on a longer term basis per month.  Interest will be charged on overdue payments.

  • Grazing is available by prior arrangement with each individual owner subject to weather/grass management conditions.

  • All horses to be kept on livery at the above address must be up-to-date with routine influenza and tetanus injections on arrival at the yard.

  • Owners must agree to follow a worming program instilled by the yard owner.

INSURANCE

  • The horse and any subsequent tack or equipment ARE NOT covered by Brackenspa Stud insurance whilst at the establishment.  All owners are recommended to insure their own horse, tack and equipment.

  • Any damage done by the animal over and above normal wear and tear (e.g. repairs necessitated by excessive kicking/gnawing etc.) will be charged to the owner.

  • The stud owner will be authorised to call in a veterinary surgeon if it is considered to be in the best interest of the horse.  In the event of not being able to contact the owner, authorise on the owner’s behalf any other expense that they consider necessary for the horses well being.

The stud owner has a lien on the licensees animal for the time of being stabled/pastured on the land for any sum owing or expense incurred for which, under this license, he is liable and this lien may be enforced by the sale of any animal, tack or equipment belonging to him for the time being stabled/pastured on the land.

LIABILITY

Spa farm / Brackenspa Stud, its employees shall not be held liable for any loss, theft, damage, injury or death to any animal, person, tack or vehicle.  And shall indemnify us against all actions, proceedings, costs, claims or demands so caused.  We require you be insured against claims by third parties damage caused by your horse.
